Recovery and Body

A low HRV number means little by itself. Train Ultra compares your recovery with your own recent range, and your coach mentions it only when it matters.

Updated November 1, 2026

What you need

Connect a watch, Oura, or your phone's health app. Your normal range needs about 30 nights of data.

How your coach reads it

Your coach compares each 7-day average of HRV, resting heart rate, and sleep with your own normal range from the last 60 days. It mentions a change only when a reading falls outside that range. One bad night does not change your plan.

Ask your coach

  • My HRV dropped this week. Should I change anything?
  • Is my sleep affecting my long runs?
