Train Ultra

AI coach for Garmin

An AI coach for your Garmin watch.

Train Ultra is an independent AI coach that works with Garmin. It reads every workout with your sleep and recovery data, talks your training through with you, and sends planned workouts and routes back to your watch.

Steep Uphill Trail Workout
7.8 mi12:40/mi152 bpm avg2,400 ft vert

Big day, and you executed it well. The climbs held steady power with heart rate controlled, which is exactly what you want this far out: strength without digging a hole. Your descents got a touch tentative late, more tired quads than fitness. With your readiness solid this morning, this was the right session to push. Tomorrow is an easy 45 minutes flat and fully aerobic to let the legs come back before the weekend long run. For a vert-heavy race, this kind of specific climbing is money in the bank.

An example evaluation. Every workout gets one, minutes after your watch syncs.

How Train Ultra works with Garmin

Connect Garmin in Settings, then keep training as you do now. When your watch syncs, Train Ultra reads the workout with your sleep and recovery data and writes an evaluation of what happened and what it means for the next session.

Train Ultra also learns your normal range for HRV, resting heart rate, and sleep. It mentions a change only when a reading falls outside that range, so a single bad night does not turn into a warning.

What goes back to your watch

Build a workout with your coach, and supported structured workouts go to your Garmin so you can run them as written. Ask for a route, or open Route Planner from a planned run, and the route goes to your watch as a course.

When the work is done, the Calendar shows the plan beside what you actually did, and the evaluation judges the session against its purpose. Sending workouts and routes to your watch is part of Pro and the trial.

Start with your Garmin history

With Pro, you can import your full Garmin history. Your coach then knows how you trained before you connected, so it can compare this block with the last one.

Who should stay with Garmin Connect alone

Garmin Connect is free, and it may be all you need if you want to see your stats and follow a plan on your watch. Garmin Connect+ adds AI insights and a performance dashboard inside the same app. Add Train Ultra if you want a coach that reads every workout, remembers your goals, and talks the next decision through with you.
